I. Pupose of the AG

§ 1

1. The Astronomische Gesellschaft is an association of astronomers and friends of astronomy for the purpose of promotion of this science.

2. The AG is to serve the exchange of scientific ideas and experiences and to represent the common interests of astronomers.

3. The AG is enlisted into the register of associations.

§ 2

1. As its main task the AG deals with the promotion of major association duties and their execution according to a firm and constant canon.

2. Aside those efforts and also for importatnt research, the AG attempts to promote the combination of several powers or a longtime individual exertion für major tasks by means of appropriate support.

§ 3

The AG pursues its tasks by means of:

• scientific meetings
• combination of work force and acquisition of means for the execution of astronomical tasks
• publication of astronomical papers
