Reviews in Modern Astronomy 17

The Sun and Planetary Systems - Paradigms for the UniverseCover-17.jpg

Kurzbeschreibung:

Volume 17 setzt die Reviews of Modern Astronomy fort, mit 14 eingeladenen Übersichtsvorträgen und Highlight-Beiträgen, die während der internationalen wissenschaftlichen Jahrestagung der AG über The Sun and Planetary Systems 2003 in Freiburg präsentiert wurden.
Die Karl-Schwarzschild-Medaille wurde Frau Prof. Erika Boehm-Vitense aus Seattle, USA, verliehen. Ihr Vortrag mit dem Titel What Hyades F Stars tell us about Heating Mechanisms in Stellar Transition Layers and Coronae eröffnete die Konferenz.
Der Vortrag von Ludwig-Biermann-Preisträger Dr. Luis R. Bellot Rubio aus Freiburg i. Br. behandelte das Thema The Structure of Sunspots as Inferred from Spectropolarimetric Measurements.
Die übrigen Beiträge diskutieren u.a. Sternphysik, Planetenentstehung und interferometrische Bildgebung in der Astronomie.
